Francis

Francis is the stage name of Bo Wein, an American artist and educator who specializes in sculpture, painting, performance, applied art, literature and film.
He began to study art in junior high school, but only decided to become a professional painter and writer after he turned 30. At that time, he had just obtained a master's degree in educational design and technology from Florida State University. In the next ten years, he devoted himself to art and traveled to South America, Europe and the United States.
After the age of 40, he returned to higher education, and in the next 15 years Francis positioned himself as an academic and researcher. He has worked at the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, the Art Department of Yucai College of Southwest University in Chongqing, and the Contemporary International Art and Design College of Chongqing Technology and Business University, teaching art history, graphic design and fashion design, international cultural research and international media at the Graduate School of Communication University of China, international cultural exchange and English literature at Hainan Normal University, Western culture and civilization history at Beijing Normal University and Dali University, British and American culture, literature, history and art at Zhejiang University of Technology, and professional English foundation at Soochow University in Taiwan. He also served as a senior management consultant in the Research and Development Office of National Dong Hwa University in Taiwan.
Since 1982, Francis has traveled, studied or worked in more than 70 countries, including Asia, Europe, North America, South America, Africa and the Pacific Islands.
In his more than 30 years of artistic career, he has worked as a DJ, international publishing consultant, editor and independent artist.
Not long ago, Francis quit his teaching job and settled in Dali, focusing on artistic creation and studying Chinese traditional culture and philosophy.
In 2011, Francis held a personal ink painting exhibition entitled "Chinese Landscape Painting and Poetry Works" at the Dali University Art Museum. Currently, he is planning to hold personal art exhibitions in various parts of the country.
